Posterior Uveitis in a Case of Sarcoidosis.

چکیده

The various procedures used in the operative treatment of retinal detachment aim at promoting adhesive choroiditis at the retinal tear. Based' on expertmental and clinical observations, and especially on operative results, the author believes that, apart from adhesive choroiditis, it is necessary to create an adhesive episcleral reaction, the importance, of which is paramount, because it affords particularly firm attachments which militate against relapses. An adhesive episcleral reaction takes place irrespective of the method of perforation provided the perforation is complete. The episcleral tissue proliferates actively, progresses in depth and becomes firmly attached to the retina. The author describes an operative procedure which gives a satisfactory adhesive episcleral reaction.

A case report of cryptococcal meningoencephalitis presenting as uveitis

In any patient with a first attack of posterior uveitis, it is important to differentiate whether the underlying cause is infective or non-infective in nature. However, when patients with a history of non-infective posterior inflammation present with recurrent symptoms of a flare-up, there is naturally a much lower suspicion of an infective aetiology and immunosuppression is usually commenced f...

It is important to differentiate posterior uveitis from panuveitic entities, where there is no predominant site of inflammation, but inflammation is observed in anterior chamber, vitreous and retina/choroid. There is co...
